No Title - Just Thoughts

I looked over my list and I did get the rag quilt about 90% finished. Right now I am clipping the raw edges and then it will go into the washer. My daughter is so excited. My initial attempts at anything new are usually for her. This quilt is in black and white printed fabrics to go wth her black and white and yellow room. I will post the final product whatever happens. Keep you fingers crossed it turns out like it should!!

Since I started working on the quilt, I didn't do much more on my list. I did go grocery shopping and went to church. We didn't get the workout in. On Saturday, our Curves closes at Noon. Emily started voice lessons on Saturday morning and we slept in just a bit too long! Hubby did a good chunk of the laundry on Friday afternoon. It rained on Sunday so no gardening. I didn't touch the computer so no pics of the latest batch of key fobs and the paper is still needing to be organized.

Hopefully this week I will be able to finish the quilt and at least get started on the paperwork.

This weekend wasn't a total loss. My daughter decided to join me in my craft room and I do believe she received the crafting gene!! She started out making some hemp bracelets and necklaces and then decided to attempt earrings. I don't do earrings very well but she is a pro!! She now wants to sell them ~ go figure!! Below is a pair she made for me. I took the pic with a camera phone so the quality is lacking. Large silver bead is actually a ladybug. Quite impressive.
I am thinking about adding a folder to my shop titled "Emily's Earring Boutique" to see if they sell. Eventually, we will work on getting her a shop of her own. Mama is soooo proud!
The weekend didn't follow my plan but blessings abounded and I am thankful that I had some beautiful quality time with my daughter...that doesn't happen often with teenagers!!
I hope you are enjoyed a blessed beginning to a new week. Make it an awesome day!!
God bless!

Finally Friday!

Goodness gracious...Friday took forever getting here! This has been my first full week of rest and relaxation in the evenings and I have been loving it. I have been in my craft room experimenting with different pattern ideas. Nothing that is shop ready yet...but I am getting close!! I have gotten some fun fabrics from http://www.craftersvision.com/ This is my new favorite place to find supplies. Check it out!!
I am still trying to figure out how to arrange my craft room. Right now I have a small computer desk that is just big enough for the sewing machine. I need more work space. I also want to paint it. Lots to do...just need to find the time and motivation to get it all done!
I don't have much more today...just some wonderful blessings...my number one is FRIENDS! I am so lucky to have my present circle of friends and to have found some friends from high school recently. I am blessed beyond belief.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy your blessings for God is good indeed!!

Random Thoughts

Today I am filled with random thoughts. I am not sure where this post will go so I hope I don't lose anyone in the process.

First thing is Facebook. I love it! It has allowed me to connect with so many friends that I have lost touch with over the years. Here is one example of what I have found. This is a picture of my high school's cast of Godspell in 1978...that was 31 years ago. It certainly doesn't seem like that long ago.
I am the second from the left. That show was so much fun. I am thankful that I got this sent to me by another cast member. Memories I will cherish!
Facebook is becoming the way to keep in touch. I know some of my online bloggy friends have pages. I do too so please ADD ME to your friends! If you are savvy about adding your store info page I would really appreciate some help. I could use a tool to help me promote my shop.
I hate being sick. I am at the end of the nastiest cold I have ever had. I literally slept for two days straight ~ one reason why I haven't blogged in a week! I have more energy but I am sound like a man. I need to kick this once and for all since the show is a week away!!!

I love hot tea on a cold day. Just warms me right up! I typically drink green tea but today I am enjoying some Lemon Lift!

I really have to list some major blessings...God is so good!!
  • Facebook - I love the reconnections with friends
  • Theater - the memories are priceless and the friendships are endless
  • Technology - our world gets smaller everyday
  • Friends - their amazing love and support lift me up each day

Make today an awesome day and remember to count your blessings!!! God bless!

Hope Not Fear

What powerful words. Hope not fear. How many times in my life had I made stupid, silly or downright wrong choices out of fear. Fear closes your heart off to so many wonderful possibilities. President Obama's speech today hit home in so many ways. Not just for the country but for me personally. The man is an inspiration.

The positive choice for anyone is hope. It comes down to the law of attraction. You can't be negative if you have hope. I know someone so full of fear that negativity is in every fiber of their being. The more you have hope, the harder it is to be around fearful people. They can tell you all the reasons you will not succeed. In your heart you will know they are wrong because of hope. Pretty powerful stuff hope is.

Have hope...the possibilities are endless...

Blessings continue to abound...
  • my unbiological sister...what would I do without her...she is always on my mind and in my prayers
  • freedom...it is so often taken for granted...today shows us once again what makes our country what it is
  • having needs met...they always are in the most unexpected ways

God bless you all and have hope!

No Title Necessary

I am not sure how to start this blog today. This is my first official 2009 blog! There are so much I want to say. This is a new beginning ~ a fresh start.
I love new calendars! There is something about hanging a calendar on the wall with nothing written on it. It is full of wonderful opportunities and adventures. I have a planner too! I order my year's worth of pages around October and I am giddy with excitement when I open the new pack and begin to sort the pages. Ahh ~ a fresh start.
There are many people that look back on the year that past and wonder what happened. I look forward to the blank days ahead just begging for some special notation. I look at the blank slate of the year ahead and think about what I can do better. Here are some things that have crossed my mind in this first week of 2009.
  • Really value my true and trusted friends. You know the kind of person I am talking about. The people that you can call at a moments notice, in tears, and they listen, understand and support you without judgement. You know you can share your deepest darkest thoughts and secrets and they will guard them with their life. I am amazed daily of how blessed I am with the wonderful loving people that surround me.
  • I want to follow through. I have plans and dreams...sometimes procrastination gets the best of me. I am going to follow through on the plans I have made.
  • Make time for prayer everyday. I do pray everyday but ususally in the car or somewhere else when there is some down time I will talk to God. I will have a specific time time to sit, be quiet, pray and listen. I remember a sermon in my past about praying isn't always about asking for things or talking to God. It is also about being still and listening for the answer.

My blessings are:

My friend ~ Sonja - you help me keep it real and lift me up when I am sinking low.

My friend ~ Mattie - you believe in me and to me that is priceless.

My friend ~ Deb - you live so far away but you still are my sistah!

I hope that you find peace, guidance and wisdom in this New Year!

God bless!

Mondays

It is Monday morning and I am exhausted! Busy, busy weekend ~ but all went well. Last night the concert was amazing!! I am struggling to find some Monday motivation. I am faced with a list of items to do at work and I am so not motivated! Hopefully, with a cup of tea and diving in, all will get done.

I didn't craft at all this weekend ~ maybe that is why I am feeling a bit low. I always feel so much better when I have touched my creative side. There is such a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when I complete a project. I really want to begin working on some Christmas gifts for the friends that bless my life. Thankfully, this week looks like I have two evenings I can do just that.

I am excited about a sewing project I have. I am calling it the "Fat quarter Fat bottom make up bag". I made one for my daughter (she always gets my first try at a new project). Then I made one for me with some improvements like a pocket inside the bag. It has a zippered closure and fits all my make up. Most bags are just too darn skinny and I can never close them. This just might be the first sewing item I will put in my etsy shop. I will get a picture and post it soon...sometime tonight I hope.

I am truly blessed!

~Music - such a blessing to be a part of a congregation that is soooo talented!

~Family - they can be quirky but I love them!

~Christmas - just the fact that we can celebrate any way we choose is a blessing!
Let me leave you with an etsyblogger team member, Tulips Treasure Box, and her amazing necklaces....check out the listing here

God bless you all!!

Sewing Away!!

I do believe that sewing is becoming my new crafting addiction! I spent Tuesday and Wednesday nights sitting at my sewing machine working on simple tote patterns. I broke two needles, messed with the tension, sewed up the wrong side, managed to work with the zipper foot, fixed a sweatshirt for my daughter, and ripped out a number of seams =) I am getting better…believe me. I actually made a mini tote that I gave to a co-worker today for her birthday. She loved it…it was the perfect size for her lunch!

Now that I am inspired to sew and create I headed off to the fabric/craft store on my lunch hour. I found some lovely fabrics in the remnants bin. One is soft paisley corduroy that looks like it will be fun to work with. I also bought some batting…my co-worker gave me some tips on quilting I might try this weekend if I get up enough courage. I also embellished some cloth diapers for burp cloths. Not perfect but I think I am on the road to getting some items in my shop.

I also have to work on some bracelets. I haven’t touched my beads in weeks. I want to get some holiday inspired items together. And there are a couple of paper projects I have been dying to try. Not enough hours in the day. Isn’t that always the way?

Right now the trainings are finished until the end of the month which should mean things are quieter at work. I finally had some time to organize my stack of papers and filing. I feel like I have a better handle on things. At home I need to get on the computer to download some of the pictures I have taken of my sewing attempts. I will only post them if you promise not to laugh!!

I need to count my blessings…I haven’t done so in a while. Let me see…

…learning something new! ~ I never thought I would enjoy sitting at my sewing machine as much as I do!

…fabric remnants and fat quarters ~ so many choices so little time!!

…my hubby and daughter ~ they are very complementary when I emerge from my craft room with a newly sewn item!!

God bless you all…I will venture around to your blogs sometime soon!!

What's the Buzz!

So much happening I am not sure whert to start.

Halloween - We had about fifty to sixty costumed little ones at our door. We didn't run out of candy. It was such a beautiful night my daughter, husband and I sat on the front porch greeting the ghosts and goblins. Of course, hubby had to have his werewolf mask on. We saw many Hannah Montanas and Spidermen with huge muscles LOL...Of course my favorite was the little ladybug!!

The Weekend - We didn't get to Brown County like planned. Sometimes, that is how it goes. We hung out at home instead. It was the first weekend that there was nothing truly planned. I did some crochet and cleaned up the craft room! I started on my custom order and I have two new scarves to put in my shop...I just need to get the pictures downloaded. I loved that we had an extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning. What a blessing!! And the Colts finally had a win over the Patriots!!! Go Blue!!

This Week - I have tried to catch up on everyone's blogs...I think it will take me to next January!! I am so glad we are a chatty bunch. I really have missed my bloggy world!

Voting - On Tuesday, I stood in line for two hours to cast my vote. I voted for Obama and I am so proud of Indiana turning blue. I had choir practice on Tuesday night for my church choir's Christmas program "Agnus Dei" by Michael W. Smith. Guess what?! I have a solo!!! It is going to be a very big deal. We have a 35 piece orchestra and extra voices to round out the choir. Right now we are practicing twice a week and sounding fabulous. When I got home I turned on the TV and was channel surfing for the latest results. I dozed off right before the West Coast polls closed and awoke about fifteen minutes later to the announcement of a new President! I couldn't keep my eyes open so I missed the acceptance speech...I am sure I can find it online.

The next two days have been meetings, trainings and workshops. I do love being busy...makes the days fly by. It is now Thursday and we are heading into the weekend!!! Not much on tap this weekend as far as events go. There is a Gift and Hobby show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. I want to go but with finances being what they are I don't want to spend much. I am still trying to make up my mind.

It is going to get colder so I am sure homemade soup will be on the menu! I have to dig out my recipe of Unstuffed Pepper Soup. Or maybe hubby will make his wonderful chili!!

I hope to get back to a regular blog and my Terrific Tuesday Treasures. I leave you with Bumble Bee notecards by Cards by Jenna

I am buzzing off now to more workshops!!! Leave me a comment and let me know what you have been doing!! BEE back soon ~ I promise!!

God bless!!

Time to Catch Up!!

First of all ~ Happy Halloween!!! I hope you are ready for trick or treat tonight!! We have a bucket filled with candy for our lucky trick or treaters...I especially love the little ones dressed up like super heroes or princesses. I can't wait!

This week has been...well...BUSY! I work at a not-for-profit organization and we publish books about liberty, economics and political science. Not my idea of light reading LOL! We are in the process of switching to new software which means training and training and training. Four days of training from 9 to 5 each day. I have to be in all of them since I am the Assistant to the VP of my department. It has been a long week! All in all, it went well but I am glad it is over for now.

On Monday night, I went to the Encore Awards Ceremony. These awards go out to community theater. Sort of like the Tony Awards but you have to be an all volunteer organization. Everyone dresses up and has a wonderful time seeing all friends old and new. Each year there is a costume parade of all the shows nominated for Best Costume Design. I got to take part this year and modeled a costume from a show I wasn't in but got to see. What fun!! A show that I was in last year won for Best Musical Production!!! That was awesome! It was a fun night!

I have finallly started crocheting again...I am working on scarf #2 right now. I also got asked to do a custom order for a girl a work. She wants me to do a baby blanket for her friend. I whipped up some pattern swatches and she picked out the one she liked best. Now I need to get the yarn and get started on it. I probably should have it done by Sunday. It should work up quickly. This is the first time I am doing a custom order!!

I want to catch up with everyone. I have visited the etsybloggers' thread and it is way too long to even think about reading it all. I am going to try and visit everyone's blog posts this week and comment when I can. I have stopped by a few already.

Tomorrow morning we are getting up bright and early and heading south to Brown County, Indiana. It is called the Artist Colony of the Midwest. I love browsing through the shops! Lots of talented people in that town. It should be the perfect day weather-wise...not too hot and not too cold. I hope I can get some inspiration there too! I will try and remember my camera so I can post some pictures of our day trip!
I must say I have missed you all...thanks for being patient with me and stopping by. Now I need to go and catch up with all of you!

Blessings today ~

Halloween - just love the little ones all dressed up!

Family - how could I live this crazy life without their support?!

Friends - in life and on the net...friends are a treasure!!

God bless!!!

Fabulous Friday!

Today is fabulous! Why you ask? Because I got a wonderful present from an awesome friend for my birthday! I took this picture with my cell phone so the quality isn't the best but I absolutely love this little gal!!!

She is sitting on my computer making me smile! What a blessing! I just wanted to share!

God bless!

Not Much

I don't have much to say today...I have enjoyed reading and catching up on my bloggy friends' post. I found a tutorial for putting a fabric lining in a crochet bag here. This is something I definitely want to attempt. I love making bags but hate the way they stretch out once you load your wallet, keys, cell, etc into them. This looks like the answer to that problem.

Taking off from work early to take my daughter to the orthodontist. If the appointment goes quickly I might be home by 4:30. That will feel like I have tons of extra time at home. I have my to-do list...laundry is #1...want to tackle it today and not wait until the weekend. This weekend I want to work in my craft room...get my many piles of craft stuff organized and put away!!! Usually when I start going through my various yarns, papers, beads etc I find some inspiration. Who knows what I will come up with!!

Many blessings in my life at the moment...
~flowers at work from my hubby =)
~my daughter...I love her!!
~crafty inspiration...you never know when it will hit you!

God bless!!

Relaxation

What do I do to relax? I get in touch with my creative side, of course! Anything I do crafty is my escape. It started with cross stitch. I could sit for hours and cross stitch...I laughingly called it my therapy! Now, I frequently crochet. I love doing small projects to get the satisfaction of finishing something. I love to bead. Spreading out my bead collection and getting inspired is such a blessing!!

My one other relaxing thing to do is sudoku...I LOVE it! Once I got the hang of it, I was hooked!

Another uplifting thing to I do, especially when life gets chaotic, is count my blessings. It always gives me peace and puts a smile on face!

Have a blessed day!

It Has Been So Long!!

I haven't blogged all week! Work has been busy, busy, busy and by the time I get home I don't even go near the computer! I have missed reading up on all my bloggy friends. I have tons of catching up to do.
First I have to tell you that I don't have pictures of my wonderful costume and wig ~ yet! I am going to get some tonight I promise, cross my heart! The last time I took my camera with me I forgot the memory card and I can't find the cable to connect the camera directly to the computer yada yada yada...anyhow...tonight I will take some with the memory card in the camera. Tomorrow I will post them!
The show has just been wonderful. All three performances went well last weekend and the audiences loved it! I hope that we get a good crowd this weekend. I have missed seeing my cast mates this week. Every night I end up falling asleep on the couch. I might have finally caught up on my rest. I can't wait to do the show again tonight.
Auditions went well but I didn't get the part I wanted. It is actually for the best. I will now have my evenings to work on my crafts and get my shop in tiptop shape for the holiday season that is quickly approaching. I still have a small pile of items in my craft room that I need to get in there. I started a scarf with some of my stash yarn. As I am making it I am thinking of how I can embellish it. The wheels are turning. I also have some paper projects I need to work on and there are three bracelets waiting for a new home! It will be nice to concentrate on my crafts.
Fall has arrived here in Indy. I love the crisp mornings! It puts a spring in your step for sure. The leaves are really showing off their true colors. Each day I notice more and more reds, golds and oranges! I need to get some pumpkins for the porch and put up my Halloween and Harvest decorations.
I am off to catch up on all my bloggy friends...I certainly have missed you all!
Blessings for today...
bloggy friends, of course!
autumn leaves
crisp morning air
God bless!!!

It is Thursday!

Last night was WIG night! What fun! Mine is absolutely beautiful. In a rush to get to the theater last night I forgot my camera. I took pics with my cell phone but didn't save them ~ will I ever get the hang of this new technology? So, I apologize for no pics today. I know you were all looking forward to them. Tonight, I must remember my camera.
We had a live preview audience and the show was a hit! It is so wonderful to hear laughter at jokes we have heard over and over again. It makes everything more exciting! No major snafus ~ when all was said and done it was a solid performance! I hope that word will get out to help with getting more reservations. If you are in the Indianapolis area, please try and make it to the show. Go to the Buck Creek Playhouse web site for ticket information.
No crafting for now...I think the next time I will be able to dedicate anytime to my crafts will be Monday at lunch! I am going to try and get some finished projects in my shop over the weekend.
Blessings are:
Dan - the wig man ~ he makes all of us look fabulous!
Kari Ann - the director ~ she rocks and I am so blessed to call her my friend!
Community theaters - a place for us to play for the love of acting and theater!
God bless!!

Monday, Monday

Ah, the begining of a new week and the start of Autumn! As I was driving to the theater last night I noticed some leaves begining to show their true colors. I am ready for some fresh apple cider! I just love this time of year.

I didn't get as much done as I had hoped over the weekend. The days just flew by. On Sunday, church then to Target for some items I needed for the show. When I got home I decided to relax and sit back and crochet. I finished up some dishcloths and took a refreshing nap! I hadn't done that in a long time!

Thank goodness dinner was in the crockpot cooking all day. I don't think I could have mustered up the energy to prepare anything more difficult that a sandwich! We had chicken and noodles...YUM! It is sort of a cheat way to make it ~ boneless chicken breast and condensed cream of broccoli soup. I had it low carb over cooked cauliflower and was it good! I can't wait for lunch to eat the leftovers =o)~

This week starts crazy rehearsals. We run the eniter show every night until opening night. It is a tough schedule but so worth it in the end...I love it! We ran the show last night with costumes for the first time. All things considered, it went well.

I did manage to get three new items in my shop. Please stop by and check them out. Also, I love comments so let me know you have visited ~ pretty please?!

God bless!!

Oh and blessings..hmmmm

mint green tea - a nice treat this morning
hearts on etsy - you can feel the love
Autumn - I love the changing seasons...life would be boring without them!

Busy Saturday!

It has been a busy Saturday and it is only 3pm as I write this. I started this morning with grocery shopping. It pains me how much food is costing. I get less and less each week and spend more and more. I am sure you all are experiencing the same things. With that said, I got home and got everything put away and did some cleaning. Then I had to decide if I should hang out in my craft room or get some pics for the shop. I pick three items I have finished and got them posted in my shop! Here they are!

It was my first try at the embellished notecards and I really like how they look. It is a set of four with envelopes. My favorite is the sage bag with fun fur. I was making a purse from a pattern and got inspired and created this little bag.

Last night, I finally got out my beads and started on some bracelets. I haven't worked on my jewelry in quite a while and it was so much fun to get back into it. There are now a few more items to put in my shop. I may do that tomorrow. It takes me so long to get things up. If you have any suggestions on making it go faster, I am open....The three items above took me an hour!

We have a lovely little garden in our back yard that was supposed to be for flowers this year. Some of last year's grape tomatoes evidently went to see and my beautiful flowers and herbs were taken over by the grape tomato monster.

This is the monster!

We have had a bumper crop of grape tomatoes and we didn't even plant them. I hope to get them totally out of this garden in the Fall so I am not surprised next year by the Grape Tomato Monster! I can't believe my basil and sage. They just went crazy! I guess they were trying to keep up with the monster! We truly have been blessed with abundance!

Well I must be off...got to get things geared up for dinner and then off to the theater to manage the house. I love it because I get to see the show for free!

Blessings for today

the grape tomato monster - even though it took over the garden the harvest is wonderful

groceries - even though I complain about the prices, I am blessed to have the money to pay for them and to keep my family fed. There are too many people in the world that can't do that.

Fun fur - it just makes me smile!!!

God bless!!!

Blog, Blog, Blog

I have to say I am not in a very bloggy mood today. I have made the rounds of the blogs I enjoy and I really don't have much to say.

Rehearsals are going well for the show...opening night is only two weeks away. I guess the nightly rehearsals are starting to wear me out. Thank goodness we have Friday and Saturday off! Sunday is Long Sunday...we start at 1pm and go until ??? which usually means 10pm or later. It is the day we get all the lighting and sound cues and props and begin with costumes. It amazes me how different it feels when all the "accessories" are added. We will break for a big pitch in dinner. I just need to get lots of rest on Saturday.

Went to Target at lunch hour today...found some $1 ribbon...I had to stop myself from buying them all LOL. Look around at the clothing and I really didn't see anything I thought was worth the money.

Even though I am tired, I am blessed beyond belief!
1. My friend Sonja - she is just a gem in my eyes!
2. My hubby - he has been out of work but does everything around the house and does it much better than me!!!
3. Salads - what can I say...I love my veggies!

God bless!!!

TGIF!

Happy Friday to all my blogging buddies! I am so glad it is Friday!

Last night, it was rehearsal time again for The Mystery of Edwin Drood. We really worked hard and the show is coming along. Here is the little promotional giveaway that the theater has put together for the show. Mind you that the picture was taken with a cell phone camera. Please pardon the quality.

Isn't it adorable? I am handing them out to friends as a reminder. The last show they gave away little rubber duckies for HONK! The Musical. I have my magnifying glass on my desk at work and I am getting questions on what it is for etc... It starts the dialogue.

The show is going well. I can't wait until we get to see what the costumes are like. We have had some fittings but nothing is set in stone yet. Our costumer is crazy talented so the costumes will be wonderful. I love my friends in the cast. Andrew especially. He is the one person that can make me break character with just one glance. Of course we are dance partners and that is an adventure! Between the two of us, I don't know how we are going to get through it without cracking up!

This is actually the first show that I am excited about costuming. I have mentioned before that I am on an eating plan (I will not say "diet", it is a four letter word!) At this point I am down 23 pounds and two dress sizes. I love putting a visual to that. It would equal 4 bags of sugar and 12 sticks of butter!!. Put that in a bag and carry it around of a while. Not fun! The last few days have been crazy on the scale stemming from my forgetfulness...I forgot to take my pills. I finally feel like my body is getting back on track.

I have on one of my favorite bracelets from Lucky Ladybug Designs.
I love millefiore beads. Again, this is was taken with my phone (at work shhhh! it's a secret!) This is one piece I can't bear to sell. I love the square beads and the bright colors. The spacer beads are square too! It is one of those bracelets that goes with everything. It is great advertisement too! I get compliments on it all the time and it gives me a window of opportunity to talk about LLD and Etsy and buying handmade etc. Just one of my many soapboxes!
This weekend will be stocking time for my shop and more sewing! On Saturday night, I will be attending a baby shower. I have had the baby blanket done for months. It was tough not to just give it to Jessica, the mom-2-be. It will be with all the the ladies from my church. It is funny, when you think of church ladies, what comes to mind? Yep, gray hair and elderly. My church ladies are vibrant and energetic and definitely not elderly. Anytime this group gets together there will lots of laughs and hugs! I can't wait. I need to make up a cheese tray (of course, I always take something I know is on my eating plan :)
I read a blog recently that listed blessings daily. I am going to start doing that each time I blog. There is so much to be thankful for. I hope that whoever does that now won't mind. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Here I go with an Attitude of Gratitude!
1. A camera phone - blurry pictures and all isn't great we can have a camera where ever we go?
2. Andrew - he is a dear friend and a great source of support.
3. Blogging friends - I love the inspiration they give me. I also love the fact that they actually read my blogs and make comments!
Remember to count your blessings today and have an Attitude of Gratitude!

Welcome September!

I love this time of year! September brings with it changes in temperatures and changes in scenery. I can't wait to see how Mother Nature paints her canvas of trees this year. I love how the mornings begin to have a bit of a chill and there is an anticipation and preparations for the celebrations to come.

This long weekend signals that end of summertime and marks the time to get ready for Autumn. I can't wait for the first glass of fresh apple cider from the orchard and a slice of pumpkin pie with a cup of spiced tea. This is my favorite time of year.

This weekend was productive in some ways and in other ways not. I did get some great fabrics at the craft store and spent the better part of the weekend in my craft room attempting to make various projects. I can now proudly say I have mastered the straight seam! I am feeling much more comfortable with the the sewing process but I know I have tons to learn.

I purchased a pattern! The lovely lady at the fabric store took pity on me and helped me with the items I needed to complete this project. There are a few details I need to research before diving in and beginning the creation! I will keep you posted.

I did work on the project mentioned in the post below. I have it completed and I will post a picture on my blog tonight for sure! I love how it turned out and I have another that needs to be assembled in tan and turquoise. This project worked up so quickly. I love things that take little time. I can lose patience with projects that take too long to complete.

I fiddled around with sewing so much this weekend that I only got on the computer once for a total of five minutes to check my email. I posted nothing new in my shop. Shame on me! I need to get busy! How can I make a sale when I am not working on my shop?

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and for those in Gustav's path, I pray you remain safe and return home soon!

Count your blessings!!! God is good indeed!

New Project

I have been busy working with a new pattern. Of course I have to put my on spin on it! Here is the work in progress.

I should have it finished and in the shop this weekend. I am calling it my Go Green ~ In the Pink Tote. The different pieces worked up quickly so it may become a favorite pattern (if I can sell it!) I am still considering how to embellish it...I don't know if I like the sample shown with the pattern so I might get creative and do something else. Time will tell. I have crocheted it with 100% cotton yarn. I love working with cotton! I keep trying to pick up other yarns but I always go back to cotton. I love making the cotton sponges and dishcloths. I have about a dozen or so finished and ready for the shop. I may put them in coordinating pairs or a sponge and cloth together.

I will be heading out to the craft stores in search of some buttons. I have bibs that need buttons. There are a number of ladies both at work and church that are expecting and I need to get the bibs complete before the babies begin to arrive! I also want to get some in the shop.

This weekend is also going to be sewing project time!! I think I am ready to try and create some small items. I have found a few ideas online that don't require tons of experience. I figure I will start small and see how I do. If you have any suggestions on easy projects to sew I would appreciate the help. Email me at glorybe1024 @ comcast.net (without the spaces, of course!) There are so many things I want to do...I hope I have enough time this weekend!

Thank goodness we will have a three day weekend!! I am so looking forward to that. I want to get chores etc done by noon on Saturday so that the rest of the time I can spend in my craft room. That means getting up early! I don't mind...I would much rather get the have-to's out of the way then I get to do my want-to's!!!

Tomorrow is Friday! Yippee ~ it seems this week has not moved very quickly. I hope that work will let us out early tomorrow. Usually on three day weekends they let us off around 3pm. It is so nice to get home before the traffic begins to snarl.

Thanks for reading my ramblings....God bless you and yours. Remember to count your blessings today because you are richer than you think! God is good indeed!
