Tuesday's Treasures

I went on my Tuesday Treasure hunt for items that would evoke thoughts of Spring. It has been cold, grey and rainy here the last few days, but I know when the sun comes out to warm us, there will be the promise of many different colors! Here are a few I found...

This Tree Green Felt Brooch at Sumikoshop
brings to mind the crisp green of a freshly mowed lawn.
The Simplicity of Spring Flowers Quilted Table Runner at Downthestreet
would be a beautiful year round garden on any table.
The Rainbow Sherbet Bracelet at MadebyMelissa
reminds me of jelly beans and cotton candy
The Pansy Button - Handmade Lampwork Beads by DorsetHillBeads
brought back the memory of watching wispy clouds create pictures in the springtime sky.

It may still be raining but the promise of a world coming back to life in beautiful colors is there...I just can't wait!!
God bless!!!

Tuesday Treasury is Back

I had started doing a Tuesday Treasury with the hopes I would make it a regular feature on my blog. I am sorry to say it went away for awhile but now I have revived the practice. My keyword for searching today was Easter in addition to etsybloggers team. Here are some of the beautiful items created by that talented group!!

The Spring Chick Easter Towels by LazyTcrochet
Skip, Hop, Jump baby booties by Nico Designs

The EtsyBloggers Team featured member this month, TwoZanyZebras, has this Pink Bunny Onsie in her shop

Stormydesigns has created this
OOAK Easter Egg Bracelet

I hope you have enjoyed this treasury as much as I have in creating it! Kudos to the talented estians ~ keep up the good work!!

God bless you and your family during this Easter season!

Cira 1890

Tally ho! As per a number of requests, here I am in my Victorian garb. Wigs will be coming on Wednesday. This is one of four changes I will make during the show. It is the most beautiful costume I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. But, whoo, is it hot! It is the one I wear the longest...entire second act! During the show, there is not much time to regroup and cool down. The ensemble in the Mystery of Edwin Drood is on stage 90% of the time. Quite different from most shows, I must say. Rehearsals are going well. I am looking forward to adding the wig for the full transformation into Gwendolyn Pynn!

With rehearsals all this week, the only time I get to craft is during my lunch hour. I bring my crochet since it is the most convienient. I am thinking about taking Friday afternoon off...just to get some things completed and go grocery shopping. My weekend is all filled up with the show, our church choir retreat and auditions for Bye Bye Birdie (yes, I am crazy enough to try for another show). Indy is blessed with a treasure trove of lovely community theaters.

I do have these pouches completed. I just need some better photos to post in my shop. I also have three bracelets on my craft desk plus a pair of earrings and a cell phone charm. I will have them up in the next few weeks.

I must be off...there is work to be done!

Blessings for today

beautiful costumes - dress up is so much fun

autumn leaves - I saw more colors last night on my drive to the theater

my family - for all the support during this crazy week!!!

God bless!!

TGIF!

Happy Friday to all my blogging buddies! I am so glad it is Friday!

Last night, it was rehearsal time again for The Mystery of Edwin Drood. We really worked hard and the show is coming along. Here is the little promotional giveaway that the theater has put together for the show. Mind you that the picture was taken with a cell phone camera. Please pardon the quality.

Isn't it adorable? I am handing them out to friends as a reminder. The last show they gave away little rubber duckies for HONK! The Musical. I have my magnifying glass on my desk at work and I am getting questions on what it is for etc... It starts the dialogue.

The show is going well. I can't wait until we get to see what the costumes are like. We have had some fittings but nothing is set in stone yet. Our costumer is crazy talented so the costumes will be wonderful. I love my friends in the cast. Andrew especially. He is the one person that can make me break character with just one glance. Of course we are dance partners and that is an adventure! Between the two of us, I don't know how we are going to get through it without cracking up!

This is actually the first show that I am excited about costuming. I have mentioned before that I am on an eating plan (I will not say "diet", it is a four letter word!) At this point I am down 23 pounds and two dress sizes. I love putting a visual to that. It would equal 4 bags of sugar and 12 sticks of butter!!. Put that in a bag and carry it around of a while. Not fun! The last few days have been crazy on the scale stemming from my forgetfulness...I forgot to take my pills. I finally feel like my body is getting back on track.

I have on one of my favorite bracelets from Lucky Ladybug Designs.
I love millefiore beads. Again, this is was taken with my phone (at work shhhh! it's a secret!) This is one piece I can't bear to sell. I love the square beads and the bright colors. The spacer beads are square too! It is one of those bracelets that goes with everything. It is great advertisement too! I get compliments on it all the time and it gives me a window of opportunity to talk about LLD and Etsy and buying handmade etc. Just one of my many soapboxes!
This weekend will be stocking time for my shop and more sewing! On Saturday night, I will be attending a baby shower. I have had the baby blanket done for months. It was tough not to just give it to Jessica, the mom-2-be. It will be with all the the ladies from my church. It is funny, when you think of church ladies, what comes to mind? Yep, gray hair and elderly. My church ladies are vibrant and energetic and definitely not elderly. Anytime this group gets together there will lots of laughs and hugs! I can't wait. I need to make up a cheese tray (of course, I always take something I know is on my eating plan :)
I read a blog recently that listed blessings daily. I am going to start doing that each time I blog. There is so much to be thankful for. I hope that whoever does that now won't mind. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Here I go with an Attitude of Gratitude!
1. A camera phone - blurry pictures and all isn't great we can have a camera where ever we go?
2. Andrew - he is a dear friend and a great source of support.
3. Blogging friends - I love the inspiration they give me. I also love the fact that they actually read my blogs and make comments!
Remember to count your blessings today and have an Attitude of Gratitude!
