It is Thursday!

Last night was WIG night! What fun! Mine is absolutely beautiful. In a rush to get to the theater last night I forgot my camera. I took pics with my cell phone but didn't save them ~ will I ever get the hang of this new technology? So, I apologize for no pics today. I know you were all looking forward to them. Tonight, I must remember my camera.
We had a live preview audience and the show was a hit! It is so wonderful to hear laughter at jokes we have heard over and over again. It makes everything more exciting! No major snafus ~ when all was said and done it was a solid performance! I hope that word will get out to help with getting more reservations. If you are in the Indianapolis area, please try and make it to the show. Go to the Buck Creek Playhouse web site for ticket information.
No crafting for now...I think the next time I will be able to dedicate anytime to my crafts will be Monday at lunch! I am going to try and get some finished projects in my shop over the weekend.
Blessings are:
Dan - the wig man ~ he makes all of us look fabulous!
Kari Ann - the director ~ she rocks and I am so blessed to call her my friend!
Community theaters - a place for us to play for the love of acting and theater!
God bless!!

Wigs are Coming!

Last night was a very late night and I am exhausted but a good exhausted. Tonight we get the wigs!!! The guy that is styling them works professionally for a dinner theater here in Indy. We are so blessed because we get the benefit of his expertise for free! Best price in the world. All the gals in the show are so excited about the wigs. I know that I can't wait.

Tonight we will also have an audience! Our director and other members of the cast and crew have asked some people to come out tonight (for free) to watch us run through the show. What a night it will be! Wigs, costumes, make-up and an audience! That is the best part of theater ~ a live audience!

Not much time for crafting =( But that is okay. I do have a number of completed items that need to be put in my shop. I just need to get some nice photos and get them posted. I am taking the afternoon off on Friday so I can get caught up on a number of things. Hopefully, there will be time to get some pictures.

I haven't really blogged about my weight loss journey. Yes, it has been a journey. I started at 192 and I am now at 167!! 17 more to go to get to goal! When I started I was extremely "fluffy". I knew I had to do something. I went back to what I know works for me...but with a different attitude. That is the key ATTITUDE. I know this time I am adjusting the way I eat for life. If I go back to old habits and patterns, I will get the same results. Watching carbs has worked best for me and I have eliminated high fructose corn syrup from my diet along with sugar, anything refined like white flour, added flax seed and tons more veggies. I have gone from a very tight size 16 to a comfortable 12 since June 3rd of this year. I am feeling awesome! Getting dressed for work isn't so dreadful any more. The lovely thing that's happening now is I am seeing people that I haven't seen since committing to losing weight and getting healthy. I have had some not recognize me and others that just give me the best compliments! Wait until they see me after the last 17 pounds are gone! I am working toward a size 8 ~ yep, that's right, single digits! Slow and steady and I will get there.

Well, I think I have babbled on enough today. What are my blessings?

My online friends - even though we have never met, it is wonderful to read new posts and see what is happening in their part of the world
My real life friend, Sonja - she is spectacular and I just love her!
Inspirational Quotes - they just inspire me!

God bless you all and thanks for stopping by!!
ps ~ I will try and get some pics of the wigs tonight ;)

Cira 1890

Tally ho! As per a number of requests, here I am in my Victorian garb. Wigs will be coming on Wednesday. This is one of four changes I will make during the show. It is the most beautiful costume I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. But, whoo, is it hot! It is the one I wear the longest...entire second act! During the show, there is not much time to regroup and cool down. The ensemble in the Mystery of Edwin Drood is on stage 90% of the time. Quite different from most shows, I must say. Rehearsals are going well. I am looking forward to adding the wig for the full transformation into Gwendolyn Pynn!

With rehearsals all this week, the only time I get to craft is during my lunch hour. I bring my crochet since it is the most convienient. I am thinking about taking Friday afternoon off...just to get some things completed and go grocery shopping. My weekend is all filled up with the show, our church choir retreat and auditions for Bye Bye Birdie (yes, I am crazy enough to try for another show). Indy is blessed with a treasure trove of lovely community theaters.

I do have these pouches completed. I just need some better photos to post in my shop. I also have three bracelets on my craft desk plus a pair of earrings and a cell phone charm. I will have them up in the next few weeks.

I must be off...there is work to be done!

Blessings for today

beautiful costumes - dress up is so much fun

autumn leaves - I saw more colors last night on my drive to the theater

my family - for all the support during this crazy week!!!

God bless!!

Monday, Monday

Ah, the begining of a new week and the start of Autumn! As I was driving to the theater last night I noticed some leaves begining to show their true colors. I am ready for some fresh apple cider! I just love this time of year.

I didn't get as much done as I had hoped over the weekend. The days just flew by. On Sunday, church then to Target for some items I needed for the show. When I got home I decided to relax and sit back and crochet. I finished up some dishcloths and took a refreshing nap! I hadn't done that in a long time!

Thank goodness dinner was in the crockpot cooking all day. I don't think I could have mustered up the energy to prepare anything more difficult that a sandwich! We had chicken and noodles...YUM! It is sort of a cheat way to make it ~ boneless chicken breast and condensed cream of broccoli soup. I had it low carb over cooked cauliflower and was it good! I can't wait for lunch to eat the leftovers =o)~

This week starts crazy rehearsals. We run the eniter show every night until opening night. It is a tough schedule but so worth it in the end...I love it! We ran the show last night with costumes for the first time. All things considered, it went well.

I did manage to get three new items in my shop. Please stop by and check them out. Also, I love comments so let me know you have visited ~ pretty please?!

God bless!!

Oh and blessings..hmmmm

mint green tea - a nice treat this morning
hearts on etsy - you can feel the love
Autumn - I love the changing seasons...life would be boring without them!

Busy Saturday!

It has been a busy Saturday and it is only 3pm as I write this. I started this morning with grocery shopping. It pains me how much food is costing. I get less and less each week and spend more and more. I am sure you all are experiencing the same things. With that said, I got home and got everything put away and did some cleaning. Then I had to decide if I should hang out in my craft room or get some pics for the shop. I pick three items I have finished and got them posted in my shop! Here they are!

It was my first try at the embellished notecards and I really like how they look. It is a set of four with envelopes. My favorite is the sage bag with fun fur. I was making a purse from a pattern and got inspired and created this little bag.

Last night, I finally got out my beads and started on some bracelets. I haven't worked on my jewelry in quite a while and it was so much fun to get back into it. There are now a few more items to put in my shop. I may do that tomorrow. It takes me so long to get things up. If you have any suggestions on making it go faster, I am open....The three items above took me an hour!

We have a lovely little garden in our back yard that was supposed to be for flowers this year. Some of last year's grape tomatoes evidently went to see and my beautiful flowers and herbs were taken over by the grape tomato monster.

This is the monster!

We have had a bumper crop of grape tomatoes and we didn't even plant them. I hope to get them totally out of this garden in the Fall so I am not surprised next year by the Grape Tomato Monster! I can't believe my basil and sage. They just went crazy! I guess they were trying to keep up with the monster! We truly have been blessed with abundance!

Well I must be off...got to get things geared up for dinner and then off to the theater to manage the house. I love it because I get to see the show for free!

Blessings for today

the grape tomato monster - even though it took over the garden the harvest is wonderful

groceries - even though I complain about the prices, I am blessed to have the money to pay for them and to keep my family fed. There are too many people in the world that can't do that.

Fun fur - it just makes me smile!!!

God bless!!!

Crafty Goodness

I am ready to get crafty tonight! I spent my lunch hour strolling around the nearby craft mecca and I have tons of ideas in my head. I had checked online before heading across the street and found out what was on sale. I wisely made a list and limited myself to those items.

I must say I did well! I got ribbons, beads, pretty paper and some of my favorite cotton yarn. I am armed and dangerous!!! I will get home, change into a comfy t-shirt and shorts, get a quick bite to eat and then I am off to the craft room! I want to work on some new bracelets. I got some beautiful millefiore beads I just can't wait to use. I have also been itching to break out the Mod Podge...who knows what I will come up with! I have been thinking a lot about Christmas gifts and there are a couple of things I would love to try.

So for now, I am counting down to 5pm. Tic Toc Tic Toc....and so it goes!

Many blessings abound today!!

a beautiful day - not too hot...not too cool
Josh - my grown son...still calls home to touch base with Mom
Mums - a sign that the Autumn leaves will be here soon!

God bless!!

I Got My Purchase

I just received my purchase from etarin.etsy.com in the mail and it is absolutely adorable! I love the care she took in packaging up my treasures! I know that the picture quality is lacking due to using my cell phone but I just had to share. Please stop by her shop and let her know that GloryBe sent you! I can't wait to get these jewels home and in my daughter's room! Thanks Esmerelda for such beautiful items!! Check out her blog!
God bless!

Thinking on Thursday About the Weekend

One more day until the weekend. I have got to start planning it out. Thankfully, there is no rehearsal on Friday or Saturday. Saturday night I have committed to working at a different theater running the house. Friday night was supposed to be "me" time but my daughter is not spending the night at her friends. It is time to regroup and reorganize my time. I have a list of things I need to do
Laundry
Clean
Shop for Groceries
Cook Dinner
More Laundry
Church
Then there is the list of things I really, really want to do, really!
Crochet
Sew - try out some new easy tutorials I found online
Work on Some Bracelets
Try some misc. tutorials I found online
Take pictures of items for my shop
Post my items in my shop
Hmmmm! My want to's are much more fun! Friday night was supposed to be a trip to Irish Fest in downtown Indy. Now the dd is going to be home, I will be forgoing the festival. Just as well, I will be able to get done some "have to's" .

Just My Thoughts

It is an incredibly beautiful day here in Indy. The sky is so blue, not a cloud to be seen. This morning it was a little nippy...you know that autumn is just around the corner.

I really don't have a lot on my mind today. I am a bit tired due to rehearsals. The show opens in NINE days!!! I got to try on more costumes last night. We have someone doing wigs for us. We should get them at the start of next week. The show is really coming together.

With rehearsals I have only had my lunch hour to crochet. I am getting some small things done. I just need to get them up in my shop. I can't sell them until I do. It is the all to common problem of not enough hours in the day. I have been able to do some blog reading. I do try and leave comments when I can. All those that I visit regularly are listed to the right.

I am quite happy to see I have four followers of my blog! That is why I commit to a post a day. It is the least I can do.

Hmmm - blessings....let me think

My job - I have a wonderful boss and I love my job!

Hubby - he is back at work and still takes great care of me!

Blogs - They have brought some wonderful friends into my life!

God bless!!!

An Etsy Find

I don't know how I stumbled on this shop, but once I did I fell in love with the chic simplicity of her designs. If I could figure out how to put her Etsy Mini on my blog I would but I just spent twenty minutes trying to do just that! So here is the link to her shop... etarin.etsy.com Please check it out. It is so girlie...I just love it! My daughter has recently redecorated her room. She wanted yellow walls and everything in the room to be black and white. I bought a light switch cover that will be just perfect! And...I was the first customer in the shop!

This talented artist also has a blog with even more designs.

http://cillarose.blogspot.com/

Check it out!!! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

God bless!!

Ike Visits Indy!

Who knew that we would have to worry about Ike here in the Midwest? Yesterday the wind was blowing and the rain came down. Chicago has some flooding. Here in Indy we have power outages and limbs down. I am amazed that Ike still had a little kick in his step when he got to Indianapolis.

Sunday was Long Sunday at the theater. We had a costume parade to see how the costume looked under the lighting. Here are some pics.

It was so much fun playing dress up! I was given a beautiful silver dress with gold accents. I didn't get a picture of that one. I promise I will post more in the future. We still haven't worked out wigs and makeup. Once the whole looks is put together we will all look very Victorian.
We were about 2 hours into our marathon and guess what happened? We lost power. It seems that Ike had done a number on the transformers that served the area. Well, the show must go on so we took the shades off the windows and continue rehearsing. Dinner was a pitch in and we were able to keep the hot foods warm in the gas powered oven. No running water (meaning no flushing!) We called it quits around seven since we were losing light. We are hoping power is restored for this evening.
I have heard from one friend who lives in Galveston. She evacuated with her fiance and is waiting for word on their home. I hope they are one of the lucky ones. Keep her in your prayers!
As far as crafting, Saturday I did get a chance to finish a drawstring purse. I did what I typically do. I start off with a pattern then in the middle I get an idea on how to finish it differently. I think it turned out adorable. I got my sixteen yo daughter's seal of approval! I don't have a picture yet. Maybe I can manage to snap a few tonight before I head out the door once again for rehearsal. Two weeks before opening night my life gets just a bit hectic. Once the run starts I will have most of my evenings free during the week, thank goodness!
Blessings for today are:
1. Kate and John are safe from Ike!
2. The wonderful cast and crew of Drood...we made it through a shortened Long Sunday
3. An understanding husband...most of the time!
God bless!!

Blog, Blog, Blog

I have to say I am not in a very bloggy mood today. I have made the rounds of the blogs I enjoy and I really don't have much to say.

Rehearsals are going well for the show...opening night is only two weeks away. I guess the nightly rehearsals are starting to wear me out. Thank goodness we have Friday and Saturday off! Sunday is Long Sunday...we start at 1pm and go until ??? which usually means 10pm or later. It is the day we get all the lighting and sound cues and props and begin with costumes. It amazes me how different it feels when all the "accessories" are added. We will break for a big pitch in dinner. I just need to get lots of rest on Saturday.

Went to Target at lunch hour today...found some $1 ribbon...I had to stop myself from buying them all LOL. Look around at the clothing and I really didn't see anything I thought was worth the money.

Even though I am tired, I am blessed beyond belief!
1. My friend Sonja - she is just a gem in my eyes!
2. My hubby - he has been out of work but does everything around the house and does it much better than me!!!
3. Salads - what can I say...I love my veggies!

God bless!!!

Oh Happy Day!

Yesterday I told you about my new original design, Patty's Soap Pouch, suggested by my very first Etsy customer, Patty. She has a very lovely shop Scheri.etsy.com I sent her the green one I made yesterday and I whipped up two more last night with some of my favorite cotton yarn. I love these because they work up quickly. I managed to get them both posted in my shop this morning. Guess what?

I sold the green one!!! It was purchased along with two other listings by the same customer! I couldn't believe my eyes! Patty, my Etsy guru, gave me some great tips yesterday and it has paid off!

I still have the lovely bright pinks for sale. I am so excited because this was my original design! Today during lunch I was able to finish another. Someone told me that you could also use this as a cell phone cover....hmmmm, I may have to tweak it a bit to come up with something a little different for that but the wheels are turning. Watch out world, you never know what I will come up with next!

I think I am getting better at the photos. I am learning how to resize, crop etc. Like everything, it takes time and practice!

Well ~ on to today's blessings....
1. Sales!! I feel so validated as a crafter!
2. Beautiful crisp mornings ~ this morning it was cool and it really felt like the start of Autumn!
3. Patty ~ for suggesting the Soap Pouch...and for all the great tips for my etsy shop!

Go out and enjoy this whimsical Wednesday. Celebrate your blessings! God is good indeed!
God Bless!

A New Design

At the request of one of my customers (right now she is my only customer) I have created Patty's Soap Pouch. Just slip in your soap, wet and lather up! It sure beats handling a slippery bar of soap. When you are finished just hang it up in the shower to dry. You could also fill it with the small slivers of soap that slip out of your hands and go down the drain! No more soap waste! To clean it, just empty out the soap and throw it in the washing machine.

Now mind you, I have not completed this yet. I took the pictures at my desk at work after lunch with my cell phone so please pardon the poor quality. I still need to do up the drawstrings. It worked up rather quickly so hopefully I can whip up a few more for the shop in no time flat. I am pricing them at $3. Let me know what you think!
I almost forgot today's blessings!
1. Patty - my first etsy customer and my guru =)
2. Cotton yarn in bright colors - it just makes me smile
3. Cell phones with cameras - what did we ever do without them?
God bless you on this terrific Tuesday!!

It's A Balancing Act

Life truly is a balancing act...family, work, play, crafting, budgets etc. Somehow we always seem to make it through. Right now, balancing seems to be all I do. Rehearsal for the show are kicking into high gear with only one or two nights off each week. I am constantly trying to find even the smallest sliver of time to grab my crochet hook and get busy. I am looking for small projects that are portable. Then it is finding the time to get photos and put them up for sale in my shop. That takes much longer than I thought it would. It is worth it in the end...it can lead to sales!!!

My biggest balancing struggle is budget. With the price of gas and groceries, I am really pinching pennies. I still get child support but that doesn't come on a regular basis. That is my dilema! How can I budget not knowing when or if it will come? Well, friends, it is all about faith. Just when I thought I would need to cash in the savings account to cover the bills, I got a big chunk of change!!! I kept telling myself that God will provide and everything will be okay and it was! What a blessing!! It is such a frustrating situation but I held on to my Faith. Today, my bank balance will more than cover my bills! I have been blessed with abundance. God is good indeed!!

I just needed to share. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you find your special blessing today!

Women's Right to Vote

This is off the subject of crafting but I feel the need to share. I received an email that outlined the Night of Terror in November 1917. I read it and was inspired to forward it on to the lovely ladies in my address book. Then I googled Night of Terror in November 1917 to learn more. If reading the stories of the courageous women who stood up to the political system of that era does not inspire you to take a closer look at our election today, I don't know what will! I challenge you to google this event then comment on my blog! I firmly believe that you will be moved by these women.

I have been guilty of not making time to exercise my right to vote. Reading their stories left me ashamed that I had chosen to sleep an extra fifteen minutes instead of heading to the polls even for the "minor" elections. These women were beaten and fed rancid food and tortured for MY right to vote and I did not honor their struggle.

Another question came to mind ~ why isn't this taught in American History? I remember that it was touched upon but it wasn't taught. There were no details. It was treated as a brief footnote to the overall history lesson. We need to have this as an important part of high school American history curriculum. These women began the fight we still fight today! As a woman, I just can't sit idly by and let this go unheard by women today. I am not sure what I will do, but I have to do something. How about you?

Ok, I am hopping off the soapbox and heading off to googleland to do more research. Blessings for today are:
1. The ladies who fought for my right to vote!
2. Living in a country where my rights and freedoms are protected
3. The men and women who fought and died to maintain my freedom and liberty

God is good indeed!

TGIF!

Happy Friday to all my blogging buddies! I am so glad it is Friday!

Last night, it was rehearsal time again for The Mystery of Edwin Drood. We really worked hard and the show is coming along. Here is the little promotional giveaway that the theater has put together for the show. Mind you that the picture was taken with a cell phone camera. Please pardon the quality.

Isn't it adorable? I am handing them out to friends as a reminder. The last show they gave away little rubber duckies for HONK! The Musical. I have my magnifying glass on my desk at work and I am getting questions on what it is for etc... It starts the dialogue.

The show is going well. I can't wait until we get to see what the costumes are like. We have had some fittings but nothing is set in stone yet. Our costumer is crazy talented so the costumes will be wonderful. I love my friends in the cast. Andrew especially. He is the one person that can make me break character with just one glance. Of course we are dance partners and that is an adventure! Between the two of us, I don't know how we are going to get through it without cracking up!

This is actually the first show that I am excited about costuming. I have mentioned before that I am on an eating plan (I will not say "diet", it is a four letter word!) At this point I am down 23 pounds and two dress sizes. I love putting a visual to that. It would equal 4 bags of sugar and 12 sticks of butter!!. Put that in a bag and carry it around of a while. Not fun! The last few days have been crazy on the scale stemming from my forgetfulness...I forgot to take my pills. I finally feel like my body is getting back on track.

I have on one of my favorite bracelets from Lucky Ladybug Designs.
I love millefiore beads. Again, this is was taken with my phone (at work shhhh! it's a secret!) This is one piece I can't bear to sell. I love the square beads and the bright colors. The spacer beads are square too! It is one of those bracelets that goes with everything. It is great advertisement too! I get compliments on it all the time and it gives me a window of opportunity to talk about LLD and Etsy and buying handmade etc. Just one of my many soapboxes!
This weekend will be stocking time for my shop and more sewing! On Saturday night, I will be attending a baby shower. I have had the baby blanket done for months. It was tough not to just give it to Jessica, the mom-2-be. It will be with all the the ladies from my church. It is funny, when you think of church ladies, what comes to mind? Yep, gray hair and elderly. My church ladies are vibrant and energetic and definitely not elderly. Anytime this group gets together there will lots of laughs and hugs! I can't wait. I need to make up a cheese tray (of course, I always take something I know is on my eating plan :)
I read a blog recently that listed blessings daily. I am going to start doing that each time I blog. There is so much to be thankful for. I hope that whoever does that now won't mind. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Here I go with an Attitude of Gratitude!
1. A camera phone - blurry pictures and all isn't great we can have a camera where ever we go?
2. Andrew - he is a dear friend and a great source of support.
3. Blogging friends - I love the inspiration they give me. I also love the fact that they actually read my blogs and make comments!
Remember to count your blessings today and have an Attitude of Gratitude!

Sew Fun!

My new goal is to learn how to sew. This is an ability I didn't think I could master. Then I was blessed to receive "The Machine!"

At first, I just stared at it. Hmmmm...what is a crafter to do when presented with such a thing? First, I plugged it in! After sitting idle for ten years before coming into my life, it still works! Okay, now for the next step...threading The Machine. I remember my mother's old sewing machine and the complexity of threading the machine, getting the tension correct, etc. I looked at the manual and thought "could it be THAT easy?" It was!! What next? I would try to sew!

I had some fabric from a decoupage project so I went for it. I set the foot down and push lightly on the pedal and......the needle went up and down but the fabric didn't move. Now, I was challenged to figure this out. I took the manual, went over and over it. After about 45 minutes passed, I finally got it! Change the length of the stitch and VOILA!!!!! I had sewn a straight line.

Now I was motivated with a capital M!!! A couple trips to the fabric store.
It was time to get creative! I found a simple pattern online and I was off. Here is the fruit of my labor. TISSUE COVERS!!!!

All of you sewing experts may not be impressed but I am very impressed with myself! I actually created something with a sewing machine. Now, I was starting to build up some confidence and I found a pattern that was just a bit more complicated. Here is the finished product...A CELL PHONE CASE!!

Now, I will not profess it was easy and everything went perfectly but...I did it!! It is lined with coordinating green fabric. It turned out just a bit bigger than it was supposed to but for my first complex (well, complex for me) pattern, I think it came out looking pretty good. Then inspiration struck and I made a matching tissue cover!
Of course, I had to get a "real" pattern. That chapter won't be written until the weekend. I can't wait to get my machine running again! My mind is full of so many things I want to try. I have a couple of books on hold at the library that might help. I will share my creations as I complete them. Wish me luck!

Remember to count your blessings! God is good indeed!

In the Pink!

My favorite color is....PINK!!! It has been ever since I can remember. Well, except for when I was eleven and I fell in love with orange for about a year. After that, I was in the pink again. I find that when I am shopping I gravitate towards anything pink! I especially love dark pink. I love putting pink in combination with gray and black. Here are some creations in my shop.

The first is my C'est Paris! bracelet. I loved the large focal beads. The Granny Square afghan is just perfect for curling up on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea. I actually love how it turned out. I had some extra yarn (what good crocheter doesn't?) and I found this pattern. Both are in my shop on etsy.

I also have completed the pink and white project I featured in a previous blog. I took pictures last night before running out to the theater for rehearsal. The picture quality isn't the greatest. I hope to take some better pics this weekend so I can get it in the shop. Here is the final product

I am calling this my Go Green ~ In the Pink! tote. I am pleased with the way it turned out. So much so that I have another tote ready to assemble in tan and turquiose. It is roomy enough to grab and go with everything you need for a quick shopping trip. It is 100% cotton which is my yarn of choice. I have some holiday yarn I may use to whip up a Christmas version. Oh, the possibilities are endless. My favorite is the pink!

As any good crocheter knows...you have to have a stash for inspiration. Here is a small bit of my stash in hues that I absolutely love. Of course, there is pink. I also love purple, especially lavendar. I have also combined pink with a sage green and dark tan for a baby blanket. I was inspired by the yarn on the right. It was a great combination for a baby blanket. I love that it was not the traditional pink, blue, yellow combination. I only wish I had snapped a picture of it before giving it away. I am trying to remember to do that so I can keep a visual record of my creations.

Pink truly is my favorite color. I am sure that I will have many more projects In The Pink!

God bless! Remember count your blessings for God is good indeed!

Welcome September!

I love this time of year! September brings with it changes in temperatures and changes in scenery. I can't wait to see how Mother Nature paints her canvas of trees this year. I love how the mornings begin to have a bit of a chill and there is an anticipation and preparations for the celebrations to come.

This long weekend signals that end of summertime and marks the time to get ready for Autumn. I can't wait for the first glass of fresh apple cider from the orchard and a slice of pumpkin pie with a cup of spiced tea. This is my favorite time of year.

This weekend was productive in some ways and in other ways not. I did get some great fabrics at the craft store and spent the better part of the weekend in my craft room attempting to make various projects. I can now proudly say I have mastered the straight seam! I am feeling much more comfortable with the the sewing process but I know I have tons to learn.

I purchased a pattern! The lovely lady at the fabric store took pity on me and helped me with the items I needed to complete this project. There are a few details I need to research before diving in and beginning the creation! I will keep you posted.

I did work on the project mentioned in the post below. I have it completed and I will post a picture on my blog tonight for sure! I love how it turned out and I have another that needs to be assembled in tan and turquoise. This project worked up so quickly. I love things that take little time. I can lose patience with projects that take too long to complete.

I fiddled around with sewing so much this weekend that I only got on the computer once for a total of five minutes to check my email. I posted nothing new in my shop. Shame on me! I need to get busy! How can I make a sale when I am not working on my shop?

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and for those in Gustav's path, I pray you remain safe and return home soon!

Count your blessings!!! God is good indeed!
